
Penn State Altoona’s history and nursing programs will host a trip to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine on Saturday, April 12. Participants will tour the museum as well as historic field hospital landmarks with an expert guide. There will be free time for exploring, dining, and shopping along Frederick, Maryland's river walk.
ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona’s history and nursing programs will host a trip to the National Museum of Civil War Medicine in Frederick, Maryland, on Saturday, April 12. Participants will tour the museum as well as historic field hospital landmarks with an expert guide. There will be free time for exploring, dining and shopping along Frederick's river walk.
The cost is $10. The bus will leave the Hawthorn bus stop at 8 a.m. and return at 9:30 p.m. Sign up in the Student Affairs Office, located in Room 103 of the Slep Student Center, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until April 11 or when seats are full.
Bring a packed lunch, comfortable walking shoes, and seasonally appropriate clothing. This trip was made possible via the Student-Initiated Fee.
